Cases are declining in many parts of the world

South Korea was overtaken by the deadly virus shortly after China, but now cases have dropped “sharply,” with just 74 new cases yesterday, down from 909 at its peak on February 29.

A 103-year-old Chinese grandmother has made a full recovery from COVID-19

A chinese lady who was struck down by the virus at the centre of the outbreak, has now made a full recovery. Doctors have said that the 103-year-old woman, Zhang Guangfen was cured in less than a week because she didn’t have any underlying health conditions.

Apple reopens all its 42 China stores

Apple have said that they are preparing to reopen their stores in China, as cases in China continue to decline. After 1 month of closures, the Apple website has now listed opening times for their stores in the country.

China has closed down all of it’s Coronavirus hospitals

Medics in Wuhan (where this all started) are reported to be celebrating and removing protective gear after the final Coronavirus hospital was shut down – because the area has seen a dramatic decrease in cases – it no longer required any of the 14 crisis bases, which were set up within weeks of the virus tearing through the country. As of yesterday, they have recorded just one case.

Doctors in India have said they have been successful in treating a Coronavirus case.

It is reported that medics at a Hospital in Jaipur, India have succeeded in curing Coronavirus patients with a mix of HIV, swine flu, and Malaria medications. The Medical college principal and controller, Dr Sudhir Bhandari speaks about one female patient. We provided her treatment following standard protocol and now she has tested negative for the disease, which is a major achievement”

Scientists ‘have found an antibody against Coronavirus’

Researchers at Rotterdam and Utrecht University have said that they have discovered an antibody that can fight off an infection from Coronavirus, which could lead to an antiviral medication. It could also create an opportunity for people to test themselves at home – saving thousands of valuable hours for health services.

American clinic has developed a COVID-19 test that gives results in hours

The Cleveland Clinic has developed new technology that will turn around Coronavirus tests in just eight hours. The technology must first be tested in-house before it can be rolled out to the public but is set to slash waiting times if it goes live.

Canadian scientists make ‘excellent progress’ in Covid-19 research

A team of researchers in Ontario have replicated coronavirus, which will provide invaluable material for research and testing.

Meanwhile, scientists in Quebec have produced a “virus-like particle” which they hope will help to create a vaccine.
