An Taoiseach calls out The Greens on ‘extreme’ carbon cuts

Leo Varadkar has asked the Green Party to elaborate on its proposals for a radical reduction in carbon emissions over the next decade.

He has also called on them to explain the implications for the Irish economy including the cost of living.

Recently, The Greens called for a 7 per cent a year reduction in carbon emissions, which is significantly greater than the 2 per cent figure that is currently proposed by the Government’s climate action plan targets.
