Ad Net Zero Calls for Brands involvement
Ad Net Zero is a global initiative supporting the Commercial Creative Communication’s industry to drive down emissions from within.
Now in it’s second year in Ireland, the Ad Net Zero Ireland initiative has over 95 supporters who have come together to support this drive to Net Zero by 2030. Other markets include the UK, the US, New Zealand and plans for future markets are in the pipeline for the next 12 months.
Having been supported by the biggest trade bodies in the industry since it’s inception, (IAPI, IAB Ireland, Marketing Institute of Ireland, Association of Advertisers in Ireland and Commercial Producers of Ireland) Ad Net Zero Ireland is quickly making waves by uncovering the challenges faced by agencies, producers and media owners and helping them find real solutions.
With almost all advertising and production agencies already signed up, Ad Net Zero Ireland is now calling for brands to get involved in order to deliver tangible action.
It is a difficult landscape for brands to navigate – how do I avoid Greenwashing? Do I communicate my sustainability progress at all? Can I ever use the term ‘Green’? What to I need to avoid?
These are all part of the conversation at Ad Net Zero in educating brands and supporting their journey of communication with their consumers.
The CEO of IAPI, Charley Stoney says that brand involvement is crucial now.
“Ad Net Zero has seen the very best in our industry come together in a non-competitive space to make this initiative work. But in order to ensure we are communicating with consumers in a credible and transparent way, we need to have the voices of brands at that same table…”
Progress & Partners:
A 5 Point Action Plan has been established to find the best, practical solutions in each area including internal emissions, ad production, media planning & buying, running awards and events and how to communicate with consumers with authenticity and transparency.
Working with various industry partners like Ad Green, Compare Your Footprint, GARM, ISLA among others who are helping supporters to find ways to lover emissions internally, all areas of the industry are covered and supported!
Marketing managers and Sustainability professionals working with large brands are facing an evolving media landscape everyday. With a constant flow of information on brand ethics and the sustainability ethos of brands hitting our media, it can be difficult to stay on track, or even know where to start.
So, it’s encouraging to know that other great brands are also here, lending (and receiving) support, training, education and tools from Ad Net Zero.
Today’s supporters in Ireland include Diageo, Irish Rail, The Musgrave Group, Repak, Energia, Irish Distillers, Google Ireland and The Spanish Tourist Office, as well as the largest advertising agencies, producers and media owners in Ireland.
If you are working with brands and looking to know more and do better, the Ad Net Zero initiative will provide you with the support and education on how to deliver authentic communication and campaigns.
Don’t feel like you must go it alone!
