Restaurants sign up to Covid-19 Safety Charter

#The Great Escape 2021. As our restaurants open once again, Failte Ireland launches its Covid-19 Safety Charter…

The aim of the charter is to give comfort and reassurance to employers, employees, and customers that a food business is ready to re-open safely to the public. Restaurants and hospitality businesses can sign up to the charter, assuming they agree and adhere to the Operational guidelines set out within.

Here is a summary of what it’s all about:

FΓ‘ilte Ireland has issued sector-specific guidelines for tourism and hospitality businesses to guide you in how best to meet the Government’s public health advice; by signing up to COVID-19 Safety Charter, you and all your employees are agreeing to follow the Operational Guidelines relevant to your sector.

To be eligible to sign up for the COVID-19 Safety Charter, you must agree to the Terms and Conditions of the Charter, adhere to the relevant Operational Guidelines, and ensure that all employees complete a recognised Infection Prevention Control training. Tourism and hospitality businesses eligible for the COVID-19 Safety Charter include sectors that have received a set of Operational Guidelines.

To view these sectors, and the appropriate guidelines, visit Failte Ireland’s Business Supports section

Each business applying for the COVID-19 Safety Charter will be asked to select a COVID-19 Lead Worker Representative. The COVID-19 Lead Worker Representative will be required to complete the FΓ‘ilte Ireland Covid-19 Infection Prevention Control Training.

All new and existing employees within the business, both full-time and part-time, must be provided with a COVID-19 Infection Prevention Control training as required in the COVID-19 Safety Charter Terms and Conditions.

Once the business is approved by FΓ‘ilte Ireland as eligible for the COVID-19 Safety Charter you will be free to display this status throughout the business premises and online platforms. The Safety Charter demonstrates to customers and employees that you, as a tourism and hospitality business, are operating in line with current Government public health advice and with Infection Prevention Control measures in place.

We wish all restaurants a safe and successful re-opening!
